Running in a lane of catchy alt-rock with a lot of influences about, UK’s I’m No Chessman have already released four EPs, and have more new, great stuff in the works for 2024. The first of which TGEFM is stoked to share with you today!
“Crocodile Tears” is the band’s first new music of the year, and comes to us with a lyric video so you, too, can sing along karaoke-style. The track is both catchy and rollicking (the piano really emphasizes that last part). Frontman Michael Rockett shares:
“Crocodile Tears” was written about escaping an extremely manipulative relationship. It happened very organically and was almost written by accident. I picked up the guitar and started singing over the first chords that came to mind and the lyrics essentially spilled out there and then.
By accident, huh? Well, there are happy accidents, and this song is one of them.
The new song officially drops tomorrow and, as previously stated, there’s even more in the works. Hit up the links below to keep up with all things I’m No Chessman.
