This is absolutely great! TGEFM is super-stoked to premiere the latest EP by Cincinatti act Culture Void a day before its release on Friend Club Records. That’s right! Culture Void isn’t out until tomorrow, but you can check it out right here, right now!
Why is this so cool? Well, aside from being a groove-heavy banger, what the band is also what makes them incredibly cool: Culture Void features members and contributors of bands as varied as Valley of the Sun, Saturday Supercade, Young Eyes, Ball of Light, Frankl Project, Hello Sapien, Banderas and Honeyspiders, alongside vocalist Phillip Smith (Eugenius).
The band explains the EP:
CULTURE VOID offers these hardcore inspired noisy protest songs for you to pile on and scream along to. We recorded this ep with the expertise of old friend Ryan Patterson (Coliseum, Fotocrime) at his House of Foto studio in Louisville, KY. CULTURE VOID are five friends who have played in numerous bands together and separately in the same basements, bars, and skateparks for decades. This represents our first musical contribution to a world on fire. More to come.

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
