Premiere: full album stream of Gibberish’s new LP “Strangers”

This is absolutely great! TGEFM is super-stoked to premiere the debut LP by multinational act a day before its release. That’s right! Strangers isn’t out until tomorrow, but you can check it out right here, right now!

Why is this so cool? Well, aside from being a banger of a 90’s-00s album, what the band is also what makes them incredibly cool: Gibberish started with two uber-skatepunk fans from Japan in the form of Yuto (bass) and Tetsuya (guitar), add in USA’s Kyle Olson (Lamonta) on vocals, and Italy’s Alex Gavazzi (Thousand Oaks, Jet Market) on drums, and you’ve got the recipe for some killer stuff. Since their inception in 2015, all of their music has been recorded, shared, and produced via email. It’s almost like they were planning for the pandemic well before anyone else!

After a couple of singles from 2015 to 2017, the band went quiet for a bit. As Kyle explains:

We’ve been working on this project for a good six years now and I can’t count the number of times we’ve been asked “So when is the full-length coming out?”

But between day jobs, graduate school, other projects, a global pandemic, and a lot of files sent back and forth, we couldn’t be happier to say that it’s finally here! Strangers seemed like an appropriate title for our first album since none of us knew each other when we started this band and have still never been on the same continent at the same time.

After a lot of recording and demoing, we’ve got a collection of songs that combine pop-punk and skatepunk in a way that hopefully pays homage to some of our heroes like No Use For A Name and Much The Same. It was an honor to have Chris from MTS and Hans from F.O.D. lend their voices to some of these tracks as well. We hope fans of fast and melodic music enjoy this album as much as we do!

It’s an awesome album of songs, and I’m certain any lover of melodic and skate punk will find something to enjoy. Remember, the album is out tomorrow, and you can visit Thousand Islands Records (North America) or Disconnect Disconnect Records (Europe) to pick up a copy.
