You can’t handle the truth. But I’m sure you can handle Hometruths, pop punk out UK, that is. TGEFM is super pumped because we’ve had our hands on their newest single and video “Serotonin” for a while, and now finally get to premiere it for you!
The track is the latest in a string of singles the band has been dropping on the regular since 2018, and the fourth since 2023. We even got a quote about the origins of the song:
Hey guys, James here from Hometruths UK! I sing in the band and also wrote “Serotonin” during the writing cycle for our debut album “Good Days Bad Days”. We’re all big emo fans and I wanted to write something true to us, but with an emo flavour…. And “Serotonin” was born! The idea for this song was to tell a story that our listeners could dissociate into. We’ve all thought about jumping in our car and just driving for hours, escaping reality and reinventing ourselves somewhere far aware. “Serotonin” “is designed to give you a 4 minute break from your 9-5, your stress and the pain of reality …. We know, we’re elder Emos!
There you go: “elder Emos.”
Have a listen below, and visit this link page for all things Hometruths. The band will also be joining like-minded pop-punk acts Big Drink and more for The Pop Punk Pendemonium Weekender mini-tour in April. See the poster for that, including dates and info, below the video.
