Connecticut quartet Rushing Spring have a new single and lyric video out tomorrow, but TGEFM couldn’t pass on the offer to premiere it for you a day early!
“Here’s to Best Friends” is the band’s newest single, and follows up “Stars and Circles” from earlier this year. These tracks are the indie/pop punk/emo group’s first new music since 2020.
Austin Gold explains:
“Here’s To Best Friends” is a song I wrote about the end of a relationship, but remembering the beginning in all it’s early glory- understanding we’re both soldiering on in this soon to be broken-up home but remembering the beginning when you made my heart skip a beat, when the world stopped from a look in your direction, but knowing and understanding we didn’t grow into it and the infatuation wore off, it’s actually a very sad (albeit danceable) song.
Definitely danceable, the song has an airy feel to it that belies that underlying story. Check out the video below, and be sure to pre-save the single and give the band a follow over at their Instagram page!
