North Michigan’s Melodic Canvas are currently preparing to release Discoloration, their newest album. TGEFM is going to get loud celebrating the premiere of the latest single from Discoloration, “Image Noise.”
You can grab a copy of Discoloration on 18 July via Setterwind Records as either a digital copy or cassette.
Melodic Canvas mastermind Evan Alderton explains:
“‘Image Noise’ was written as a means of escape from the virtual world of social media and the modern day of hyper consumable content. It’s about being overstimulated by the constant state of bombarding noise and distractions that our screens give us day to day and finally being able to encapsulate the feeling of having enough. The video will hopefully capture the essence of that feeling.”
Melodic Canvas is playing often around Michigan. Check out the tour dates below:

June 23rd – Detroit, MI – Lager House

Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
