Happy Thursday! We’re here at the noon hour (eastern USA time, that is) to premiere for you the new single and video from Columbus, OH’s Smug Brothers. The song is titled “Javelina Nowhere,” and it is the lead track to their upcoming EP Another Bar Behind the Night. That’s the latest in a nearly two-decade series of releases from the band, and is due out 12 Jul 2024 via the one-two punch Anyway Records and Just Because Records.
For me, “Javelina Nowhere” has such a sense of driving purpose and jubilation—a great way to kick off this new EP! The jangle of the guitars and propulsive rhythm section should get you up and marching into the future. The video our guitarist Ryan Shaffer created with Don Thrasher’s character of Pablo rounds out our “Pablo Trilogy” with an unexpected conclusion.
