Following their 2022 debut LP Noir, St Louis’ Inner City Witches burst back on the scene last month with “Witch On Film.” Now TGEFM is honored to premiere the band’s second new single of 2024, “Cloven Hoof.” If this song sounds a bit more indie than the normally hardcore/post-hardcore trio produces, there’s a reason for that, as Addison Wicks (guitar/vocals) explains:
Although we prefer to write and perform heavier/hardcore songs to our audience, “Cloven Hoof” is a track that formally presents our love for emotional rock songs that take their time and shows you how well we can make that happen. This song has been on the burner for a long time, and it might be the best recording we have ever done as a group so far. The concept is all about emotion and movement through music and after one listen I think everyone will agree we have met that mark.
With two excellent songs already, Inner City Witches are starting off 2024 right. We can only hope for more!
