Lots of things have happened since we last premiered something from UK’s Vampire Slumber Party but, I think most relevant here, is that the band is no longer a solo project! Over the past year Yusuf Laher has rounded out the VSP project and now they’re a full band! (not that Yusuf couldn’t play all of the instruments)
And that brings us here. TGEFM is proud to premiere the new single video from Vampire Slumber Party! I’ll let Yusuf explain:
The song’s called “Little Light,” and it was inspired by recent (and not so recent) casual (and not so casual) racism I (Yusuf) have encountered along the way. “Little Light” is the second single from our new EP / mini album, which we’re hoping to put out before the end of the year.
I’ve been high on VSP and Yusuf’s work ever since he reached out to me back in my Punknews days. Now every time he pops up in my DM or I see something new on YouTube, I get a smile on my face. TGEFM sure hopes you enjoy it, too.
Vampire Slumber Party’s also got a gig lined up on 11 Nov 2022 at the Queen’s Head in Brixton, performing with Scandal, Ink Bomb, Slow Faction, and No Breakfast Goodbye. That’s quite a line-up so, if you’re in the area, best swing by!

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
