TGEFM is proud to premiere the new video from Vampire Slumber Party! It’s for the single “Northern Lights” which VSP released a bit over three weeks ago on 24 May 2021. The video doesn’t officially drop until tomorrow, but we’ve got it for your a day early!
Vampire Slumber Party is the solo project of Yusuf Lahar. Yusuf’s been around and in a lot of bands, but VLS is a solo project he began quite a few years ago and, understandably, began to ramp up in his spare time during the COVID lockdowns in the UK.
Yusuf has this to say about the song, and video:
Northern Lights’ is the second single from my new solo album Funeral Pop. I wrote this song when I was working a crappy job for an awful, patronising boss. Weeks seemed to last about 10 days, weekends flew by in what felt like hours, and all I seemed to do was bite my tongue and dream about the northern lights. I’m sure we’ve all been there.
I made the video myself. Filmed in my lounge, and the drums at overdrive studios in Deptford.
The video has a lo-fi punch that befits the 80’s post-punk style of the song itself.
You can check out the video below, and be sure to visit Vampire Slumber Party’s Bandcamp and Spotify pages for more.
