Time for a double feature as TGEFM is proud to premiere not just the new video “Numb the Pain” from Canada’s Waterfront, but also the new EP Fever Dream, which officially drops on Friday, 02 Dec 2022!
Waterfront may not have been around for a while, but they’re definitely burning the midnight oil and releasing a decent amount of music since 2021. They play a heavy-style of alt-rock with a driving beat and some epic sounds.
When asked about the EP and the video, the band states:
Fever Dream is where we’ve unloaded all of the experiences and uncertainties we shared and grew from over the past couple of crazy years. We are a young band, and still young people. We make mistakes and learn from them but adding in thepandemic during these formative years threw us a few curve balls. Bringing that into this sophomore release for us brought up many feelings of joy, celebration, and slight insanity. We tackled handling and discussing each of our vices and came to trust each other for support while being apart. Companionship amongst ourselves as friends and with our partners became the heart of this project. We missed out on a lot. We missed our friends. This project bridged the many gaps we found in our lives. Fever Dream is this lonely journey of finding your way to new and old paths despite the wild ride.
“Numb the Pain” is a song that reflects the darker side of this project. We delve into what it means to be who you are whether that’s all good or bad at any given moment. Self-esteem and self-identity go hand in hand so when we don’t have a firm grasp on either it’s a natural response to numb that pain, but that doesn’t resolve what’s under the surface really. We really wanted our music video for this song to emphasize this isolated struggle and hope the honesty of this song is something you can identify with. It’s our goal to have touched this topic from a perspective that leaves room for those with completely different vices or struggles.
