Montréal quirky proto-punks PyPy delivered their sophomore LP Sacred Times this past October. Out via Goner Records, it comes a decade after their debut album Pagan Day. Now the band have a new video for the track “Poodle Wig.” As keyboardist and vocalist Annie-Claude Deschênes relates:
I was in a clinic’s waiting room,” said Deschênes, “And there was this woman with a poodle haircut in there with me that seemed to be looking me over and judging my hairstyle. I was trapped in there with her — and the longer it went the more confined and uneasy I felt. It was really unsettling!”
True to that proto-punk style, the song itself is catchy, but that fuzzy undertone that lends a bit of a sinister air. It’s great!
