“Rat City Rock Nerds” Pinkshift, out of Baltimore, deliver a new single and music video “when we were friends.” With fuzzy vocals and heavy rock sound (be sure to check out the blazing guitar solo), it’s both angry and catchy at the same time. Fair warning: the video features egregious destruction of an ice cream cone.
This is the band’s first release of 2026, following two new singles in 2025 and the 2024 sophomore album Earthkeeper, all out on Hopeless Records.
See the video below, and find more Pinkshift at their Bandcamp, official page, or this link page (technically for the new song, but loaded with streaming service links).

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, the SF/Bay Area, and now the Twin Cities. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
