Roll of the Dice is a short interview format with a variable amount of questions. A pair of dice is rolled and the total, between 2 and 12, is the amount of questions we can ask. All questions are given to the interviewee(s) at once, and no follow-ups are allowed. The interview may be lightly edited for content and clarity.
Orlando rockers FELICITY have been winning since long before teaming up with Point North for the “Charlie Sheen” single, but the new track is certainly charging their tiger blood. TGEFM was able to speak a bit to the band’s guitarist Drew to discuss their sound, the influence of Robert Zemekis and what’s next! Check out our latest Roll of the Dice below.
Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview, and congrats on the success of “Charlie Sheen”.
Thank you! I appreciate you having me here!!!!
What can you tell me about FELICITY, the new single and what you want it to represent to your listeners?
FELICITY is a “Trash Rock” band from Orlando, FL! We created the genre “trash rock” because we always felt that we never fit into any single box or genre. We describe our sound as if you put every genre of rock music into a trash can, shook it up, and dumped it out; you never really know what you’re going to get! Our newest single is called “Charlie Sheen” and is a collaboration with one of our favorite bands Point North, which we are SO excited to share with the world!
What album or band or significant singles made you go “Yeah, this is what I want to do” Not just an influence but who or what was the catalyst?
I’d say for me it goes all the way back to seeing the movie Back to the Future and seeing Marty McFly perform on stage at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. Just seeing him play “Johnny B. Goode” in front of a crowd blew my mind, and from that moment on I knew at a very, very young age that I NEEDED to be in a band and play guitar.
One of our obligatory questions in these interviews also tends to be the one I have found most important on a personal level. Who are some bands on your radar that TGEFM readers may not know about, but you think they should?
I highly recommend checking out the bands: AVOID, Capstan, 408, Magnolia Park, Outatime, Greyson Zane, Honey Revenge, Meet Me @ The Altar, Dark Divine, Between You & Me, Young Culture, Cherie Amour, Homesafe, and Not My Weekend, and Hungover to name a few!”
What’s next for the members of FELICITY?
Our goal for 2024 is to release a whole bunch of new songs and to play as many shows in as many new cities as we possibly can! We have a tour coming up here at the end of March, So What!? Fest in Dallas in June, and a few more things upcoming on the radar. We also want to continue to collaborate with new artists, songwriters, and producers from diverse genres and backgrounds.
Was there anything I missed that you’d like to share or dive deeper into with our readers?
We have A LOT of fun on our Tiktok where we have tons of lore of us getting kicked out of big box stores, making friends (and enemies), and getting into all sorts of trouble, so I highly recommend following us at @wearefelicity!
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
