Austin, Texas’ Sniper 66 have released an album in support of Black Lives Matter. Titled No Justice No Peace, the release features demos, rarities and unreleased tracks. The band is raising money for charity, but I’ll let them explain it themselves (via a social media post):
Until June 8th, we will have this digital album “No Justice, No Peace” available. ALL profits from the sales of this will be matched by us and donated to Black Lives Matter. There are 4 unreleased songs and songs that were demoed a year before Annihilator was recorded in different forms (different lyrics, vocalists, etc.).
So even though today (June 5th) Bandcamp is handing all profits to the artists, know that you can still make a worthy (matched) contribution to BLM. If, for some reason, you don’t like Sniper 66, (huh?) you can also choose to donate directly to Black Lives Matter.
But, if you’re on the fence, and want to test the waters with the song “Greedy Bastards (demo)” below, and then hit them up on Bandcamp if you please.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
