Chicago’s Space Age Zeros deliver their first “new” music since the release of their debut LP Strange New World last year. The band applies their power-pop sensibilities to the classic track “Oh Nina,” released by The Muffs on their 1995 sophomore album Blonder and Blonder.
Full disclosure, TGEFM contributor Jason Zero is a member of the band, but we still post about their new stuff despite that.
While no human nor beast can truly copy the infamous Kim Shattuck wordless yell, SAZ do a damn good job of paying tribute to it, especially since it counters the bubblegum sweetness of the rest of their cover.

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
