101 Part Time Jobs – Ep. 47 — Giles is so stoked and holds back no excitement when speaking with Mark Bowen of IDLES. Bowen details the band’s hardworking go-getting attitude from it’s earliest stages and combating the pressures from friends and family to get a “real job,” which he has! Mark Bowen is a registered dentist, and cut his teeth (yes all puns intended) in the Prison system. Bowen goes on to describe the release playing live music and getting to be a bigger, more exaggerated version of yourself, and how that “scratches an itch” for both his mental and physical well-being.
101 Part Time Jobs – Ep. 48 — Brendan Kelly joins Giles to talk about The Lawrence Arms new album, The Skeleton Coast and how the band used this record to test themselves musically by implementing their most off-beat influences and reconfigure that sound so that it is delivered through their distinct voice for a punk audience. Kelly details gig life like lying his way into a bartending gig after spending years and years on the road, his road to advertising, writing for The Onion, and ruling his cynical roast beef empire.
Future Friday — Ep. 21 — This week Tom brings along Chris Cresswell of The Flatliners. The two chat about the once in a lifetime situation going on with the the US and Canadian borders being closed, his solo cover project The Inside Man and the 20th anniversary of The Flatliners.
Horn and Hoof Records Podcast — Ep. 3 — We are joined today by Wasp and Alex of Rites of Hadda. The guys explain the history of the band, the upcoming EP The Horned God coming 22 September and some of the not-completely-thought-out ideas they’ve had for releases over the last few releases.
The Jasta Show — Ep. 542 — Because of a busy week the Hatebreed frontman wasn’t able to bring new content so instead he released the previously Patreon exclusive “How Awesome is This” mini-ep. The show is a watch-along with Jamey Jasta, Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage and Kingdom of Sorrow‘s Charlie Bellmore to critique of the Jean-Claude Van Damme cinematic masterpiece Double Impact.
Lead Singer Syndrome – Ep. 241 — Joe Taylor of Knuckle Puck covers a myriad of topics with Shane in an episode they describe as “shooting the shit.”
The Mike Herrera Podcast – Ep. 324 – Mike boasts nothing but legendary conversations in this talk with Reese Roper of Five Iron Frenzy about the golden era of ska.
The Punkanormal Podcast – Ep 069 — Fellow punk news site Punkanormal Activity’s latest podcast is out now and features, amongst other content, an interview with Sam Williams of Down By Law.
Talking Records — Ep. 45 — Christian Lesperance of Jersey Interchange joins Jed to break down what the masterminding the Jersey covers Jersey project and break down Bigwig‘s classic record Stay Asleep track by track, the intensity of Bigwig’s live set and the influence of the band throughout the Jersey scene at the time. (fun fact, my ugly face can be found in the liner notes for this record)
World’s Best Dad — Ep. 13 — Joe Escalante of The Vandals joins the dads to talk about his parenting, being a punk rock lawyer, working on Ancient Aliens, being the youngest of seven in a divorced family and the history of The Vandals.
