101 Part-Time Jobs with Giles Bidder (Great Cynics) — Ep. 50 — Ty Vaughn of Broadway Calls jumps into the conversation with tales of his bad head space that led to half a decade on hiatus, putting out a record (an amazing one at that!) mid-pandemic and his time in the restaraunt and mail service industries.
The BadChristian Podcast — Ep. 530 — Tim McHague of Underoath joins the lads from Emery to give his unique perspective on life after pandemic. As a touring musician and Florida bar owner McHague has come up against all of the economic shock that COVID-19 has led to and how he turned it all into lemonade instead of wallowing in the hardships.
Chris DeMakes A Podcast — Ep. 16 — The legend Brian Baker (Bad Religion, Minor Threat, Fake Names, Beach Rats) pops onto the pod to discuss the process of writing the absolute classic Dag Nasty (yup, he was in these pioneers too) track “Can I Say.” The two also dive into Brian’s musical resume and the way he has watched the scene change over the last 30 plus years.
Pass-Through Frequencies with Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World) — Ep. 11 — Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids, New Amsterdams and The Terrible Twos joins Jim to expose the way music will change in a post-COVID world and working with DownWrite as a commissioned musician.
Sappenin’ Podcast with Sean Smith — Ep. 95 — Mikaila Delgado from Yours Truly joins Sean and Morgan to discuss the brand new album Self Care from the contagious Aussie pop-punkers. The trio broach topics ranging from mental health, tour showers, performance injuries and of course the history, present and future of the band.
That One Time On Tour with Christopher Swinney (The Ataris) — EP. 122 — Uber producer and Be Well frontman Brian McTernan telling the story of his dad meeting Noodles from The Offspring while Brian was urinating in a pre-fab shed, his time in a band with other super-producer Matt Squire and his struggles with mental health and its affect on fatherhood.
The Wasting Time Podcast — Ep. 49 — Rob Hitt, drummer of Midtown and founder of I Surrender Records comes aboard to discuss his multi-decade career in music, signing Valencia and Four Year Strong, veganism and running a viral instagram page (Bodega Cats).
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
