Chris Demakes A Podcast — Ep. 14 — Chris brings in Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and Blink-182 to deep dive into the Alkaline Trio classic “Radio.” Matt explains the power of simplicity within the musicality and the depth of the lyrics, writing a song that went on to become a crowd favorite in fifteen minutes on the back porch of Atlas Studios and the timelessness of three-chords and a melody.
The First Ever Podcast — Tim Kasher — Host Jeremy Bolm (Touche Amore) is joined by the prolific Tim Kasher. Kasher discusses his resume of Omaha bands he has worked with including Cursive, The Good Life, The March Hares, Slowdown Virginia, and of course his solo work. Kasher talks about rumors Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) forming Saddle Creek Records as part of school project, working with Oberst as teenagers in Commander Venus, growing up in Omaha, the incestuous music community of the area and Kasher & Oberst technically sharing a record label with Creed.
No Dogs in Space — The Stooges, Live at Goose Lake — This minisode tells the story of The Stooges‘ infamous show at Goose Lake. Beyond the obvious conversation of how one goes from a touring musician to a school teacher and administrator, Danny also talks more about how he uses his touring experience on resumes, how stage shows prepared him for a classroom setting and of course the punk rock sentiment of “Do it for the kids” and actually getting into “Do it for the kids” in his new district position.

While the main pretense of the conversation may be the 25th anniversary rerelease of Live Fast, Diarrhea it doesn’t take long to evolve into even more. The pair get into all the different hats Escalante has worn, from self-proclaimed TV weasel to lawyer to radio host and label owner and how Escalante gladly took on all those career paths to avoid the entitled approach of many musicians.
The Smokin Word Podcast — Ep. 007 — Toby Morse of H2O is a guest on Madball bassist Hoya Roc’s pod to discuss their history together, their respect for hip-hop/hardcore crossovers like Method Man and Ice-T, and what they’ve been working on now.

Turned Out A Punk — This special episode is dedicated to the memory of Riley Gale of Power Trip who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last week. Hear from those he has influenced and touched over the years.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
