100 Words or Less – Ep. 112 — Ray Harkins checks in with Madison Watkins from metalcore act Year of The Knife. The pairing discusses Year of the Knife’s new album Internal Incarceration, her ability to multitask and run the apparel and accessory company Candy Corpse and the state of straightedge.

101 Part Time Jobs – #41 and #42 — In Episode 41, Giles speaks with Shawna Potter of War on Women about all the right choices that lead her to where she is today. Shawn details moving from Nashville to Baltimore to join the band that would inevitably lead her to form War on Women, the glimpse at success she had at such a young age while touring cross-country with her first band from high school, her love of the art of framing, a Craigslist ad that led her to a gig with Spinal tap, and how band dynamics are shaped as a woman working primarily with men. In Episode 42, Jason Lubrano of Iron Chic talks with Giles about how important service industry jobs are to bands in their early years in order to support constant touring, his time working in print shops and pizza shops, how the support of The Fest and it’s extended network and his band mates’ prior experience of touring with Latterman that helped the band stay motivated, organized, and goal oriented.

185 Miles South – Ep. 82 — This week the four-person panel plays a game I have played with countless times leaving a show and hitting traffic as the guys build their own “Ultimate Hardcore Band.” The rules are simple; design your own supergroup consisting of one singer, one drummer, one bassist and two guitarists. While I will avoid spoilers and nobody asked, I will tell you that my “Ultimate Hardcore Band” consists of Lucky Lehrer behind the kit, Harley Flanagan on bass, Walter Schreifels & Dr. Know on guitar and Dave Smalley with the mic.

Chris DeMakes A Podcast – Ep. 11 — Aaron Barrett of Reel Big Fish shares the story of the unlikely success of the fan favorite and not-actually-a-mega-hit “Beer.” Aaron talks about how the audience immediately connected with the song even in it’s earliest and unfinished stages, the behind the music secret to the horns heard in the chorus, life after a feature in a major motion picture, and other stories from time on the road with Less Than Jake.

Defiance – DEF054 — Peter McCormack’s acclaimed podcast Defiance has covered all sorts of social topics from Black Lives Matters to synthetic biology but this week McCormack kicked off “1,333 Days.” The story of metalcore act The Ghost Inside. While the series will cover the band’s history specifically the tragic car accident that left them off stages for the aforementioned timeframe and their triumphant return at The Shrine Theater. Part one kicks off with a timeline of band history leading up to their fatal bus crash.

The Mike Herrera Podcast – Ep. 320 — Steve Soboslai of Punchline joins this week’s episode.

Topics run the gamut from abusive nuns in Philadelphia to the infamous SNL appearance and of course, to lessons Lee’s learned through fatherhood.
