Ska Punk International’s SPI Fest will return for another weekend of ska and ska-punk in 2024 and the list of performers is already epic. So far the annual festival has announced Catbite, Call Me Malcolm, Hans Gruber and the Die Hards, Matamoska, PWRUP, Eevie Echoes and the Locations, Mega Infinity and Bumsy and the Moochers.
This year’s event taking place on 17 May and 18 May, has relocated to a new, all-ages venue known as 25 Central Street in Windsor, CT after the inaugural SPI Fest took place in Austin, TX. Tickets can be purchased here.
This fast-growing fest has seen previous performances from Tsunami Bomb, The Toaster, and Littlest Man Band.
The calendar has worked out in favor with the fest, at least according to daysoftheyear.com who says that National Pizza Party Day, National Shades Day, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, National Whiskey Day and National Smile Month all coincide with SPI Fest… and what says Ska Punk nearly as well as pizza, glasses, inlcusion, booze and a smile?
Keep yours eyes on TGEFM for more SPI Fest news as it comes.
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
