Apparently a true story of when a member of Brisbane’s Square Tugs and a friend came across an abandoned party-goer at 2am. I can think of worse songs based on true stories, but not many better ones. Per the description on Bandcamp:
The song tells of a drama-filled, late-night encounter between Dave and our photographer friend Bec in Fortitude Valley. At the end of the night, they were on their way to get some halloumi fries when they came across an upset young girl sitting in the gutter. She was very distressed as her best friend, Erin had taken her phone and deserted her. Erin had left without her shoes and both of their phones, hence the song title. Dave and Bec looked after her and made sure she was safe. They didn’t ever get the girls name, but she’ll now be immortalised on this song forever.
Enjoy the song below, and visit them at their Bandcamp or Spotify for more.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
