Austin, Texas’ Starving Wolves‘ debut album, True Fire is out today, which is awesome in and of itself.
However, the band has taken a step further, and have announced that on today’s Bandcamp Day, the proceeds from all digital sales of their Bandcamp downloads will be donated to the Austin Justice Coalition, an organization dedicated to serve “people who are historically and systematically impacted by gentrification, segregation, over policing, a lack of educational and employment opportunities, and other institutional forms of racism in Austin.”
You can check out the track “Get Bit” from the album below, and then head over to their Bandcamp page to pick up a copy of the album or their 2016 7″ We Are One. Not in a listening mood? You can also go directly to the AJC website to donate.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
