That’s Good Enough For Me is on a roll, but we still need help… YOUR help!
We are looking for contributors to fill a variety of roles, but primarily more reviewers. Frankly, we are getting more pre-release promo copies than our small (but dedicated) reviews team can handle! However, if you are interested in writing features, doing interviews, or the glorious task of writing up regular news posts, feel free to come on board!
If you’re interested, email us with the subject “I want to be a part of TGEFM.”
Everyone is welcome no matter what your preferences, but we are especially interested in people who have their ear to the ground with the following communities and have a good grasp of writing in English:
- Central and South American punk/metal/ska, etc.
- Asian, Southeast Asian, and Oceania punk/metal/ska, etc.
- Metal (in general)
- Hardcore (in general)
- ANYONE with a good feel for your regional music community
If you’re interested, email us with the subject “I want to be a part of TGEFM.”
If you’ve made it this far and have a few questions, we’ll try to preemptively answer some of them:
Q: Will I get paid?
A: No. At least, probably not. The site is still new and won’t be self-sustaining for a while. Everyone at TGEFM is volunteer except for me. I’m the siphon that TGEFM keeps taking money from to stay operational.
Q: Hmph… well that doesn’t sound like a good deal for me.
A: Maybe. But by becoming a member of the TGEFM team you’ll have behind-the-scenes access to new music before it goes to the public, the chance to establish yourself as a bigger part of our scene, and even the ability to drive some of the news narrative towards bands or genres you think may be under-served. The world is your oyster!
Q: What if I don’t have any experience with writing?
A: If you’ve ever written more than two sentences in a row about music on social media, then you are halfway there. Our team of news editors will work with you to improve, or just refine, your writing. Basically, if you have thoughts about music, then you can definitely write about it.
Q: Well, what I don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to this, or I get busy with real life stuff occasionally?
A: Doesn’t matter. You are a volunteer and only do what YOU feel comfortable doing. Likewise, you will NEVER be assigned something. Every contributor at TGEFM chooses what they want to work on. You have to fall off the map for a bit? It happens to all of us. Unless you explicitly quit, you’ve always got a place to come back to at TGEFM.
Have more questions? Email us with the subject “I want to be a part of TGEFM,” and we’ll go from there!
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
