I’m going to be honest, I’m not that big of a fan of The Waitresses‘ 1981 holiday tune “Christmas Wrapping.” But people seem to like it. Enough so that both The Aquadolls and Devon Kay & the Solutions have each released a cover of the song. Both are presented as music videos, but really are just lightly animated.
The Aquadolls’ cover is produced by Fat Mike and features Fishbone‘s Angelo Moore and NOFX‘s El Hefe. They take more of an aggressive ska-punk angle for the track:
As for Devon Kay & The Solutions, they seem to lean a bit more into the camp of the original track… and there is a dancing Santa and, do they dare… explosions?
