Atlanta’s The Carolyn have delivered a refreshed version of their track “Twelve Gauge.” The song originally appeared on the band’s 2016 Keepsake EP, but they have decided to revisit the song in light of all that has been going on in the world, as well as their home country of the United States.
On their Facebook page, The Carolyn has this statement about the song, and its renewed relevance:
A “new” tune for those who believe that “thoughts and prayers” are enough to address systemic inequality, mental health issues, and gun violence. For those who are honest about the contrary, thank you. Everything from discussing these topics with new faces, to shooting the shit about this twilight zone of a year has made us feel vastly less alone lately.
