The Chugs go “Minnesota Sober” in new single

… and “Minnesota Sober” means “constantly drunk.”

The track is the latest from Indiana Hamm’s Beer proponents The Chugs, and apparently is off of their upcoming EP, Eternal Brewtopia, due out 18 Jul 2025.

The lyrics are all nostalgic references to what this Hamm’s-lover’s bootcamp meant to him in his younger years, pre-fibromyalgia. The title, poking fun at the term “California Sober,” is a phrase that here means “Constantly Drunk.” When people listen to this song, we really hope they dive headfirst into nostalgia. We want them to imagine a shitty 90’s movie about summer camp complete with terrible acting and beer cans littering the ground by a sign that says, “Leave No Trace.” – Sam Kuban

This will be the third “six pack” from The Chugs— yes, all of their EPs are just six songs— following 2024’s Hey Neighbor!

The Chugs will also be playing at Camp Punksylvania this year and, teaser, we’ll have an interview with them coming soon!

In the meantime, enjoy being “Minnesota Sober” below and hit up The Chugs at their Bandcamp or official page (which also has preorders and streaming links).
