The Color Fred have released a video for their recently released crowdsourced song “Future Past.”
Fred Mascherino has performed as a member of Taking Back Sunday and Breaking Pangaea but on his newest single for solo project The Color Fred, he performs with whomever wanted to work with him.
Musicians from across the globe sent in their takes on a bare bones Color Fred track to help create “Future Past.”
On a Facebook post, Mascherino states “The reason I think this worked so well is, I tried to provide as blank a canvas as I could- just simple strummed chords and singing. I encouraged everyone to fill in the holes and never realized that it would be done in so many different ways. When I finally put them all together, it blew my mind!”
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
