The Color Fred have released an acoustic reimagining of the Breaking Pangea classic “Worst Part.” The new single will be part of the upcoming Reinventions EP.
Fred Mascherino is the man behind The Color Fred and Breaking Pangea and will be releasing Reinventions to breathe new life into his previous work in Taking Back Sunday, Terrible Things and Brody, along with The Color Fred and Breaking Pangea. .
Of “Worst Part,” Fred says:
“Being in Breaking Pangaea was important to my growth as an artist. It was the first time I was really able to tour. From 2000-2003, we played with so many bands that became the big bands of that emo era. We were all close friends. Will Noon [Breaking Pangaea’s drummer, and later a member of Straylight Run and fun.] and I wrote ‘Worst Part’ in 2002 for our EP on Equal Vision. It was such a special, exciting time for us.”
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
