Vancouver band The Dreadnoughts are filling the gap between releases with a new album of “covers”. Green Willow sees the band covering “mostly-traditional folk songs, lovingly ruined in our typical Dreadnoughts fashion. Sea shanties, war ballads, rebel songs, farming songs., wassail songs… it’s all here.”
This new release, due out 14 Mar 2023 exclusively on digital, follows their Jun 2022 LP Roll and Go. Song with the announcement comes their rendition of the traditional Ukraine/Polish folk song “Hej Sokoły (Żal za Ukrainą)” (trans. “Hey Falcons (Longing for Ukraine”).
