The Exbats have announced a new album, and released the first single “Coolsville USA.” That’s the lead track from the upcoming Now Where Were We, which is due out 22 Oct 2021 via Goner Records.
And, yep, the song is about that lovable duo, as guitarist Kenny McClain describes:
“Coolsville USA” is a jangly yet sinister guitar-pop ode to the friendship that exists between Scooby Doo and Shaggy Rogers. “They are both scared, being led around for who knows what reason, and under constant attack. They only understand each other. To the rest of their friends, one’s voice sounds indecipherable, but his friend understands it. Together, they kinda unmask greed and villainous intent. It’s an important relationship in an unexpected place.
