New Jersey’s The Ratchets reach back over three decades to 1990 for their cover of Depeche Mode‘s classic track “Policy of Truth.” The band keeps the more sedate tempo of the while adding a bit more of a rock sound to it. I’ll admit that the original has been living rent free in my head for a fairly long time (it’s true, I’ll belt out the chorus to myself often for no reason), so it’s not so surprising to me how much staying power and relevance it has, especially in these tumultuous political times.
