Earlier this week Chicago-area punk/easycore act The Usuals released the first single and video, “Stain”, from their upcoming EP From the Valley to the Alley (full disclosure: under my other hat doing illustration as Asplenia Studios, I designed the cover for the EP). Now that EP is up for preorder over at their Bandcamp, and, as part of that announcement, the band is now also streaming the lead track “Cheers to No One”.
From the Valley to the Alley is the second of three planned EPs the band is working on, and is due out 28 Oct 2022 (preorders will start 07 Oct). The first EP in the series, Man Down, released in Nov 2021 and served as a tribute to bandmate and Chicago-area legend Steve Katzel who sadly passed away in 2020. The third EP, At the Gates of the Second City, is expected out in Feb 2023.
The Usuals are also playing some gigs this month, including a spot at this years Fest.
Check out the single (and “Stain” video), as well as those gig dates, below). Visit their Bandcamp to preorder the EP, or Spotify for streaming fun.
