DC experimental rockers Tired all The Time have dropped the new music video for the single “Formulae.”
Explaining the themes behind the track, vocalist Mike Talley says:
“The lyrics for Formulae come from a reflection on the relationship between humans and technology. While we typically represent this in the form of dystopian body horror (limbs, eyes, flesh being replaced), the far more interesting stuff is when we think about how technology has altered our minds. If you’ve ever done a captcha or had to click the stop signs, you could say that you’ve dedicated at least some of your time to doing a machine’s job. If the presiding technocracy is to be believed, are our minds are not so different from their algorithmic learning models? Of course they’re different though right? Right?”
Bad Dad (occasionally called Ed) has been on the periphery of the punk and punk-adjacent scene for over twenty years. While many contributors to this site have musical experience and talent, Ed’s musical claim to fame comes from his time in arguably the most punk rock Blockbuster Video district in NJ where he worked alongside members of Blanks 77, Best Hit TV and Brian Fallon. He is more than just an awful father to his 2 daughters, he is also a dreadful husband, a subpar writer, a terrible dresser and has a severe deficiency in all things talent… but hey, at least he’s self-aware, amirite?
