triton. the genre-bending musical project of Scott Murphy, has released a new single and video from their upcoming album. “alcatraz” features Thursday‘s Geoff Rickley, who also serves as co-producer for Sundown in Oaktown, which drops 27 Jan 2023.
The LP is a follow-up to 2017’s Washed Up, and is as thematic in sound as the album is in theme itself. TGEFM’s bad dad sat down with triton. for a Roll of the Dice interview, which provides more insight into the band’s style, processes, and themes.

the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, the SF/Bay Area, and now the Twin Cities. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
