We've got a great one for you today, as TGEFM is honored to premiere the new video for College Radio‘s cover of the classic track “Pathetic.” That song is the opener to Blink's 1997 album Dude Ranch, and has given it the old college try for their contribution to the recently-released benefit comp Fate Fell Short: A Blink-182 Compilation. That comp is the brainchild of Joseph “Skaxdad” Guerrero, with proceeds from sales going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

When asked about their pick for the comp and the video itself (recorded on Halloween 2021), the band was quick to answer! Gordon (guitar/vocals) starts with:

This song is a personal favorite of mine. Me and My buddy Scotty would play this song at parties as teenagers, so when asked about doing a cover for the comp I instantly knew which one would be best for my vocals and Evan's!! We added our twist as well with some guitar harmonies as well!! This comp has a lot of talented musicians stoked to be apart of it. Music video well I think it speaks for itself!!

Evan (drums) adds:

This cover was really fun, and especially satisfying, because we got to add a lot of “College Radio” into the song. We took a song that was already fantastic, and then we slept on our patented vocals and guitar harmonies, and made it real shiny.

If you ever wanted to know what it would look like if four Guy Fieri's sang blink-182, then I have really, really good news for you. Also, singing with fangs in turns out to be super hard, I don't recommend it.

Melvin (guitar) finishes with:

This blink cover has everything: energetic and driving guitars, signature dual vocals and the classic blink attitude. It was a no brainer we had to play it. We played it for our Halloween show which was perfectly timed since “Guy Fieri and the Fieri's” did our cover live!
