Are you ready for some football?!?
Ok, this song isn’t really about football. Although the video has football in it (and the fun antics kind, not Sports Center highlight reel kind), it is definitely a blast. TGEFM is super-stoked to premiere the single and video “Let’s Ride” from Omaha NE’s Fox Paw. The band describes themselves as alternative rock, but there’s a lot of power-anthem and pop-punk under this hood.
As for the song, it is the first single from their upcoming, debut EP Negative Space. Take a watch and listen and then read more below, including info on the EP release gig.
We popped the question about what, exactly, “Let’s Ride” is about, and got a flurry of answers back from each member!
This song started out as a goofy joke but really became more than that as we wrote it. It has a deep personal meaning that I believe many people will be able to resonate with.
Justin Fussel, lead guitar
To me “Let’s Ride” is about getting past your anxiety so that you can win in life.
Jon Golden, vocals / guitar
An entertaining reference to the meme “Let’s ride” with Russell Wilson that took a whole new meaning as we wrote it. Standing against panic attacks and telling the world “I can do this.”
Gabe Baier, bass
“Let’s Ride” is a song that is apart from other songs. It’s meaning hits emotional beats that a lot of other songs do not, which in my opinion makes it stand out.
Jack Cline, keyboard / backing vocals
I see “Let’s Ride” as a relatable idea to a lot of us. Fighting back our own personal demons and playing with the hand we are dealt.
Christian Bokowski, drums
Inspired by a meme and became so much more. The story of our lives.
Fox Paw will also be holding a release gig for the new EP on 03 Jun 2023 in their hometown, with Garst and Bad Self Portraits joining in on the celebration. You can find the poster with details on that event below and, underneath, all of the Fox Paw links one can ever need in life.
