They may be the Let Me Downs, but TGEFM is in no way disappointed to premiere the new music video for their song “Jameson On Ice”!
The track, which comes off of of the band’s debut LP Tacoma Is For Lovers, released 16 Jul 2021, sonically harkens back to those heady days of the mid-90s when punk was experiencing a major resurgence. While the EpiFat sound reigned supreme, Let Me Downs feel more in line with bands like Samiam and Gameface, who were continuing to explore the more melodic side of “melodic punk.” This song is a blast, the album is a treat and, bonus, the band features two vocalists each with distinct voices!
Bassist/co-vocalist Paul Leveqsue, whose duties this track lie primarily in backing vocals, has this to say about the song:
Jameson On Ice is the second single from our debut album “Tacoma Is For Lovers”. The video is snap shots of a pre covid relationship. How it started how how it ended, drowning your sorrows and looking for Solace in a bottle of Jameson.
But WAIT! There’s more! Let Me Downs will be be performing at the Hilltop Rats‘ 3rd Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party in Tacoma, WA on 17 Dec 2021. Alongside the hosts and Let Me Downs will be College Radio and Kids On Fire, and if that isn’t a stellar lineup, I don’t know what is. I wish I wasn’t on the other side of the country for this one!
So check out the video below, as well as the poster for that upcoming gig. Be sure to support Let Me Downs by either streaming or purchasing their music at Spotify, Bandcamp, or KaosMerch; or following them on social media at Facebook or Instagram.
