Are you ready for the melodic side of melodic punk? Wichita quintet Stay the Course skillfully blend relentlessly fast percussion with vibes that evoke the biggest arena of the arena/pop-punk acts. On their newest single, “I-35,” the band sings of the longing for loved ones while traveling the highways and byways of the USA, especially the looooong stretches found in their neck of the woods.
Joseph, lead vocals, shares:
When I was writing the lyrics for I-35, I was (and still am) traveling between Wichita and Kansas City a lot, and on those drives I tend to spend my time just thinking about being home with my wife and daughters. Just missing them but knowing every step of the way I’m getting closer to being back with them. I think this song relates to anyone who is missing someone, which is everyone.
I’m not crying… just dust in my eye, man.
