In 2004 noted director and artist John Waters released the A John Waters Christmas compilation of hand-picked “holiday” tracks by artists such as Tiny Tim, The Chipmunks and more.
Now, Nashvillian power pop trio Vista Blue will be launching a tribute to that odd comp, and have released the first single (and lead track) “Fat Daddy, ” originally performed by… Fat Daddy (not the Hop Hop artist). Vista Blue’s tribute is due out 26 Nov 2021 and will be available for free via their Bandcamp page, just in time to throw it on and enjoy the madness of all fo the Black Friday stampede videos.
Check out the cover of “Fat Daddy” below, and visit the Vista Blue Bandcamp site for more from the band.
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.
