The Felonz are back with a brand new single, the newest offering from Laptop Punk Records. The song is called “Mommy's Mistake” and opens with the twisted repeated mantra “I found a dead baby”. It follows up March's “Sobby” and is available for digital purchase the Laptop Punk Bandcamp link found below.
“Mommy's Mistake” is another in the growing lineage of rabid punk that oozes and seethes from the collective brains of the 3 people that make up The Felonz. Coupled with lines like those mentioned above is a buzzing whirr of musical chaos, a racket raised that feels like the wheels are near falling off. At moments, it feels the guitar stabs may not quite keep up and the vocals spewing from the mouth of D. Felon fall behind and rush to catch up. And while the wheels never fully fall off, it's the “on the verge” feeling that makes the song feel vital and electric. Like other fun Felonz songs, the fun lies in the danger and imperfection. This is another cool song from a band with a growing number of them.
