Week 3 is here and the TGEFM crew has a new batch of music new and old(ish) to add to our growing 2023 playlist!! Rhoda Dakar, the brokedowns, saturdays at your place, The Bouncing Souls, Worriers, Mark Murphy and the Meds, and Swiss Army Wife round out our newer songs. Meanwhile each contributing… contributor, I guess… picked out some great songs that are a bit older to round out the mix.
Stream it below, or head straight to Spotify.
Here’s the scoop: TGEFM staff are trying something a bit different for 2023. Instead of separate weekly playlists of what we’ve been listening to, we’re launching a year-long playlist, one that will grow each and every week as we add more songs to it. Our requirements are to first submit one NEW song released within the past month, and then one song released at any time. We’ll get the playlist updated on/around Sunday of each week.
Plus, you readers can contribute, too! If you’ve read this far, put in YOUR submissions for next week’s mix in the comments below. Remember, picks only count if they’re posted in the comments on the TGEFM website. Replies on social media don’t count!
the white drew carey (aka – Jeff Sorley) is the founder and head editor of TGEFM. He’s lived (outside of) Chicago, Madison WI, (ugh) Penn State, Lyon FR, Oxford UK, central New Jersey, and now within earshot of SFO in the Bay Area. When not scouring the web for more great bands and labels to post about, he also spends time drawing (mostly) silly sci-fi and anime stuff under the name Asplenia Studios.

Oh Jason… you don’t ASK us what to put on… You get to pick two songs to go onto the list. You just gotta follow the rules: Your first song MUST be released within the past four weeks and, if you satisfy that, you get one more pick.
But beware, we don’t double up songs, so make sure your picks aren’t already on the list or else you miss your chance!
